Currently in St Georges Hall Windsor Castle.
According
to the antiquarian, George Vertue, the King sat twice for
this bust at Kensington Palace. It was commissioned by the King himself to
place above the chimney piece in his library at Kensington Palace.
A terracotta signed and dated 1758 - almost certainly the model for this bust is at Durham University.

Carlton House
