The Frankfurt  Zacharias Conrad von Uffenbach (1683-1734) was a scholar, lawyer and local politician. He came from a distinguished family of lawyers, studied in Strasbourg and Halle.  In 1721 he became councilor and was 1727 and 1729 junior mayor. His real interest, however, was travelling throughout Europe and collecting as a connoisseur.

At the beginning of the 18th century he had an imposing private library with over 12,000 volumes.

Zacharias was the older brother of Johann Friedrich von Uffenbach (1687-1769), who also held high offices in Frankfurt.
